Cleco has sent a 12-member storm team from the St. Tammany region to assist Dixie Electric Membership Corporation (DEMCO) with underground system restoration following widespread damage caused by record-breaking flooding. “Record high flooding is severely impacting the service areas of DEMCO,” said Floyd Pittman, Cleco’s mutual assistance coordinator. “Hurricane Katrina and more recent heavy rains have given our crews experience with repairing flooded underground systems. We are pleased to help out our neighbors during their time of need.”
The Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of a vehicle driving through Montgomery continually blowing it’s horn. When the responding deputy, Cpl. Jason Adcock, arrived in the area, he located a vehicle matching the description of the complaint. Upon seeing the patrol car, the vehicle immediately turned its lights off and pulled into a random driveway.
Clerk Frances Glenn (front) and Court Clerk Melissa Baum are happy in their work at the Village of Georgetown Town Hall and are quick to tell you all the great things that are happening in their corner of Grant Parish. Glenn has been on the job since March of this year and Baum has been employed by the town since 2008. Both ladies say they love their job and are thankful to be able so serve the community they call home. Aside from their work at the Town Hall, both ladies are involved in community activities.
